Over The Journal is a public evidence tool built around PEA: Probabilistic Evidence Analysis.

Probabilistic Evidence Analysis, or PEA, is a method for reading claims with measured doubt. It looks at what is claimed, where the claim comes from, whether independent sources support it, whether credible sources contradict it, and how much uncertainty remains.
Because modern readers are surrounded by speed, emotion, headlines, and recycled claims. OTJ was built to give readers a calmer layer: a report that separates evidence from noise, and confidence from certainty.
You paste an article link. The PEA Engine fetches the article, identifies the core claim, searches for independent support and contradiction, evaluates source signals, then writes a report. The score reflects the evidence found during that run.
OTJ is for checking the strength of public claims. It is useful for news articles, public statements, conflict reporting, viral stories, political claims, and complex topics where one source is not enough.

The PEA API gives developers access to Over The Journal’s probabilistic evidence analysis engine. It is built for teams that need structured, readable, and transparent claim analysis inside their own tools.
The API can analyze an article URL, extract the core claim, evaluate available evidence, check independent support and contradiction, and return a structured report.
OTJ is not a truth machine. The API returns an evidence estimate with useful context, source signals, uncertainty, and a clear explanation of what the engine found.

Over The Journal respects reader privacy. OTJ is built to analyze public article links, not to create personal profiles about readers.
When you use OTJ, we may collect the article URL you submit, the generated report metadata, basic technical logs, and usage information needed to run and improve the service.
If you choose to download a PDF report, we ask for your email address. We use that email to record the download request and to understand professional interest in OTJ.
If you sign in, OTJ may save your analysis history under your private account. You can delete this history from the account menu.
We use collected information to run the PEA Engine, generate reports, save your account history, improve reliability, prevent abuse, fix technical problems, and understand how OTJ is used.
We do not sell your email address. We do not use submitted article links to identify your private beliefs. We do not promise that the system will always access every source or produce a perfect report.
If you sign in, you can view your saved report history, delete your history, sign out, or delete your account from the account menu.
OTJ may use trusted infrastructure providers for hosting, authentication, analytics, database storage, and report delivery. These services help the website function.
We keep information only for as long as it is useful for operating OTJ, improving the service, meeting legal obligations, or protecting the platform from abuse.
